The deadline for the submission of a construction bid for the Lackawanna County Government Center project has been extended one week to November 2.
All bids from prospective construction firms must be submitted to the Lackawanna County Controller’s Office, 135 Jefferson Avenue, Lower Level, Scranton, no later than 11 AM on November 2.
The bids will be publically opened and read on November 2 at 11:15 AM in the Commissioners Conference Room, sixth floor, 200 Adams Avenue, Scranton.
County officials stressed that this extension will not impact the overall timetable for the project nor cause any construction delays.
The extension will give firms additional time to prepare their bids and also provide for the maximum amount of companies to participate in the process. It will also create an opportunity to secure the most competitive, cost-effective bids for the project, saving taxpayer dollars.
