Drop-Off Ballot Boxes To Close

The ballot boxes for the public to drop-off their completed ballots will remain open at the following Municipal Locations until Noon on Friday, May 13:

Carbondale City Hall

Clarks Summit Borough Building

Dickson City Borough Building

Moosic Borough Building

Roaring Brook Township Municipal Building

As a reminder, the box at the Lackawanna County Government Center will be remain open / live until 8 PM on Tuesday, May 17, which is Election Day.

May 7th Mother’s Day Pottery & Plants Sale Moving Indoors To The Electric City Trolley Museum

The Lackawanna County Arts & Culture Department’s Mother’s Day Pots and Plants Sale set for Saturday, May 7, from 11 am – 1 pm will move indoors at the Electric City Trolley Museum, 300 Cliff Street, Scranton, on the property of Steamtown Historical Site behind The Marketplace at Steamtown and COLTS Bus Station, due to the anticipated inclement weather.

Sale proceeds will benefit Maternal Family and Health (MFHS).

The project is a partnership with Artworks Gallery and Studio.  Prices start at $10. In addition to the sale, there will be free art activities, music, and a sound bowl meditation.

Mother’s Day Pots & Plants Sale Set For May 7th

The Lackawanna County Arts & Culture Department will sponsor a Mother’s Day Pots and Plants Sale on Saturday, May 7, from 11 am – 1 pm on the 200 block of N. Washington Avenue on Courthouse Square.

The proceeds will benefit Maternal Family and Health (MFHS), an organization dedicated to improving the lives of women with children and also providing families with essential health and nutrition services in its 17-county service area.

The project is a partnership with Artworks Gallery & Studio, a fully licensed day program for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Artists from the studio created unique, one-of-a-kind pottery in a range of sizes.  Prices start at $10. In addition to the sale, there will be free art activities, music, and a sound bowl meditation.

Radisson Wall Repair / Traffic Information

Radisson Wall Repair / Traffic Information

Lackawanna County will begin the project to repair the retaining wall on Biden Street just off the Biden Expressway by the Radisson Hotel.

The project will begin Monday, April 25, and only the inbound right lane will be closed. Traffic coming into the city may use the other two lanes. The lane will be closed from 7 am until 4:30 pm.  The project is estimated to take between two-three weeks, and the plan is to work Monday through Friday.
