The Glenburn 4-H Sewing Club is now taking registrations for youth to sign up for 4-H textile science projects.
In 4-H, members learn basic clothing construction skills to complete a garment of their choice, according to their experience and interest. Leaders, Hilda Lewis and Ann Northup of Dalton, accept all levels of experience from beginners to advanced youngsters. Boys and girls, ages 8 – 19, are encouraged to register by calling Mrs. Lewis at 570-563-1369.
4-H is the youth educational program of Penn State University and Cooperative Extension. It helps boys and girls ages 8 -19 to: acquire knowledge and life skills; develop attitudes and abilities to cooperate with others; learn to accept and carry out responsibility; develop self-confidence and communication skills; and appreciate the value and dignity of work.
Adult leaders share their knowledge and skills with youth in an informal setting. 4-H projects involve: food, animals, gardening, and leadership. Projects are tools used to teach youth responsibility, initiative, decision-making and other life skills.
