Hospice programs throughout our community have provided compassion, comfort and comprehensive services to families and their loved ones during the end-of-life journey. What began with the generosity of volunteers has grown to include physicians, nurses, medical social workers, counselors and the latest care techniques to aid terminally ill patients and their family members. The Lackawanna County Commissioners recognized the impact hospice care has for the residents and proclaimed November “National Hospice & Palliative Care Month.”
