The Lackawanna County Commissioners designated April as “Sexual Assault Awareness Month.” This issue cuts across all racial, cultural and economic stratas and has a debilitating effect on the individuals and their families. Supporting local and national advocacy initiatives, services and agencies is vital for curbing the violence and creating an environment for helping people and the communities-at-large to heal.
