The Lackawanna County Office of Youth and Family Services (OYFS) is celebrating its annual Adoption Day on Friday, November 3, from 9 AM – 11:30 AM in the Courtrooms on second floor in the County’s Administration Building, 200 Adams Avenue, Scranton.
The department is honoring 11 adoptees, ages 2 to 14, and their families. Additionally, the 31 children and their families that were adopted throughout the year have also been invited to participate in the celebration.
This year’s theme is Super Heroes…Superman, Batman, Super Girl, Bat Girl, The Hulk, Captain America, Robin, Wonder Woman, The Flash, The Ninja Turtles, and Spider Man. A basket raffle, benefitting the OYFS Teen Fund, will be part of the program along with a variety of refreshments.
The adoptions will be presided over by President Judge Michael Barrasse, Judge Andrew Jarbola, Judge Trish Corbett, Judge Thomas Munley, and Judge Julia Munley.
