Daily school attendance is vitally important to the overall growth of children. So much so, the Lackawanna County Office of Youth & Family Services (OYFS) has joined forces with the United Way of Lackawanna & Wayne Counties to assist students and their families with attendance and neglect issues. Four school liaisons help to facilitate student attendance plans and alleviate barriers to truancy, absenteeism and perilous behaviors. This commitment helps to strengthen area children’s academic and maturation processes and formulate “Good Works” in our community.
