The Lackawanna County Commissioners cut the ribbon for the mural design on the Jessup Bridge on Constitution Avenue and Delaware Street with artist Heather Evans, center. Ms. Evans of Olyphant was selected by the mural competition panel of the County’s Arts & Culture Department to create a themed design for the structure. The mural, painted in grayscale, radiates the feel of an old photograph. It highlights Jessup’s sawmill, mining, connection to the old world with the Race of the Saints, commitment to education and athletics, Cougar Pride, and Judge William Jessup.
