The Office of Revenue & Finance is responsible for preparation of the annual budget for Lackawanna County as well as ongoing review of revenues and expenditures in order to determine proper account postings and departmental compliance with the annual budget.
The department provides fiscal analysis for the Lackawanna County Commissioners and oversees the operation of other accounting departments throughout the branches of County governance. In addition, the department acts as a liaison and coordinator with the auditors of the County in their efforts to prepare the annual County audit.
Board of Commissioners 2022 Budget Hearings Update
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Lackawanna County Board of Commissioners will hold their Public Budget Hearings, as per the Home Rule Charter, regarding the proposed 2022 Budget on the following dates:
October 25th at 10am: Commissioners Conference Room, 123 Wyoming Ave, 5th Floor, Scranton PA
October 26th at 2pm: Throop Borough Building, 436 Sanderson St, Throop, PA
October 28th at 2pm: South Abington Township Building, 104 Shady Lane Rd, Chinchilla, PA 18410
October 29th at 1pm: Thornhurst Township Building, 356 Old River Road, Thornhurst
Space will be limited at each location, and masks must be worn.
