Trolley Museum Closed; Water Pipe Rupture

A major heat/water pipe ruptured Sunday evening at The Electric City Trolley Museum, flooding the back trolley bay area and causing water to drip in a variety of adjourning rooms.

The water has been shut off, County staff is cleaning-up the areas, and repairs will be made as soon as possible.

The museum will be closed today 1/10/22 and tomorrow 1/11/22.

Our Lady of Peace Finishes First In The County’s “Trim A Tree” Challenge

Wayne Hiller, left, the Lackawanna County Trolley Museum and Facilities Manager, presents a plaque and prize to Peggy Yanul, teacher, and Rebecca Rothwell, student, from Our Lady of Peace School.  The school finished in first place in the Lackawanna County Electric City Trolley Museum’s “Trim A Tree” Challenge.   Students from area districts were involved in the decorating competition.  The Christmas trees were displayed over the holidays at the museum where visitors judged and voted for their favorite one.

Dunmore Elementary School Captures Second Place In Tree Decorating Contest

The Lackawanna County Electric City Trolley Station & Museum recognized the winners and schools who participated in its “Trim A Tree” Challenge. Students from area districts were involved in the decorating competition.  The Christmas trees were displayed over the holidays at the museum where visitors judged and voted for their favorite one.  Dunmore Elementary School finished second in the contest.

Lakeland’s Scott Elementary Captures Third Place In “Trim A Tree” Event

Lakeland Scott Elementary School took third place in the Electric City Trolley Museum’s “Trim A Tree” Challenge. Ms. Nancy Yasinkas was the school’s contest coordinator.  Students from area districts were involved in the decorating competition.  The Christmas trees were displayed over the holidays at the museum where visitors judged and voted for their favorite one.
