Swimming & Coal Mine Activities At Lackawanna County Parks
The Lackawanna County Commissioners have announced a few “cool” ways to beat the heat and enjoy the Summer at the County’s parks.
Swimming in the lakes at Covington, Merli-Sarnoski, and Aylesworth is now open. People will be able to swim, at their own risk, for free and utilize the parks’ facilities until dusk.
The pool at McDade Park will not be open due to safety issues based on an inspection by and the recommendation from the County engineer.
The Coal Mine has added an extra day to its schedule for residents and visitors to experience a glimpse of our history in mining. The venue will now be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10 AM to 4 PM, with the last excursion beginning at 2:45 PM.
For further information, reservations, or prices, contact the parks’ office at 570-963-6764.
