Plank Road Bridge in Clifton Township Closed Indefinitely

Bridge #1 on Plank Road in Clifton Township has been shut down indefinitely for safety reasons.

The five beams on the bridge, which carry Plank Road over the Lehigh River, are failing.

The township and Fire Department have been notified along with the Lackawanna County Communications Center.  No school buses travel over the structure.

The closure has caused a 6 – 7 mile detour.
